Clear answers before you buy, reserve or unpack a plant.
Use the sections below for ordering, preorders, delivery, plant condition and aftercare. Formal terms remain in the linked policy pages.
Ordering and payment
Where do I buy plants?
Available plants, accessories and personal-use digital designs can be ordered directly through this website. The product page identifies whether an item is ready, made to order or supplied digitally.
How do accessories and STL designs work?
Ready accessories are physical stock. Made-to-order items show an honest processing estimate and are not produced until payment is confirmed. STL designs are private digital downloads licensed for personal use; they have no postage charge when ordered on their own.
What is the difference between ready and made to order?
A ready accessory is already made and available to dispatch. A made-to-order accessory is produced only after payment is confirmed and its product page shows the expected processing time before dispatch.
What may I do with a personal-use STL design?
You may make unlimited prints for your own personal use. You may not share, resell or upload the file, or sell printed copies. Copyright remains with Snip & Sprout unless a separate commercial licence is expressly provided.
Which payment methods are available?
Checkout supports PayPal, BACS or bank transfer, and QR or bank-app payment where shown. Payment is not automatically reconciled, so the order status is updated after payment is confirmed.
How long is stock held while I pay?
An awaiting-payment order reserves the plant for a limited period. PayPal and QR or bank-app orders have a 24-hour deadline. BACS or bank-transfer orders have 72 hours. The deadline can be extended manually where there is a genuine reason.
Can a discount code be used?
Valid promotional or customer return codes can be entered at checkout. Eligibility, dates, minimum spend, usage limits and whether preorders are included depend on the individual code.
How do I stop Email Updates?
Every marketing email includes a secure unsubscribe button. You can stop one topic or all Email Updates without signing in. Order, account, review and exact-plant restock messages are separate service emails.
Preorders
What does a preorder reserve?
A preorder reserves one place from an eligible establishment batch. It does not reserve a propagating plant or immediately assign a final exact Plant ID. One active reservation is allowed per customer for each batch.
Why do I pay a reservation amount first?
The initial payment secures the preorder at the displayed discounted preorder price. The remaining balance becomes due when the plant is ready under the preorder workflow.
Is a particular physical plant allocated immediately?
No. Candidate matching remains provisional while plants establish and may change if their condition changes. A final exact Plant ID is assigned only after a suitable plant passes its readiness checks, moves to Stock and the allocation is confirmed.
What happens if propagation fails?
If your reserved plant fails to establish or does not pass its final health check, your order will be cancelled and you will receive a refund of all money you have paid for that plant. I will never send a plant that I do not consider healthy and ready for its new home.
Are readiness dates guaranteed?
No. Dates are estimates generated from the plant's lifecycle data. Plants grow at different rates, and health takes priority over dispatching to an artificial deadline.
Plant size, condition and care
Are the exact plants shown?
Available listings use the exact plant photographs wherever possible, so you can see its actual size, condition, root system, variegation and growth before ordering.
What does “established” mean?
Established means the plant is stable in its current pot or growing system, has enough healthy root development to support itself and is showing reliable active growth. A first root nub alone is not treated as established.
Does a small pot always mean a tiny or immature plant?
No. Pot size is only one part of the description. Alocasias in particular are commonly kept snug and may be well established in a 5 cm self-watering pot. The listing and exact photographs are the better guide to plant development.
Will my plant include care information?
Yes. Customer pots can carry a QR label linking directly to the permanent care page for that plant and cultivar. The website also includes fuller pest, propagation and substrate guides.
Can you guarantee a plant has never had a pest?
No responsible seller can promise that. Plants are inspected and preventative care is used, but customers should still inspect and quarantine any new plant. Harmless springtails or intentionally used beneficial organisms are not the same as a plant pest.
Packing and delivery
When are plants dispatched?
Plants are normally dispatched Monday to Wednesday using the selected Royal Mail service. This reduces the chance of a live plant sitting in the network over a weekend or bank holiday.
Do you ship in cold or very hot weather?
Dispatch may be delayed when conditions are unsafe. Heat packs can be used where suitable, but they do not make every temperature safe for every plant.
Will I receive tracking information?
Where a tracked Royal Mail service is used, the dispatch email includes the tracking number and a Royal Mail tracking link.
How are plants packed?
Plants are packed to protect the pot, growing medium and foliage as far as reasonably possible. Live plants can still move in transit, so unpack carefully and photograph any serious issue before disturbing the packaging further.
Is postage charged for digital designs?
A digital-only order has free digital delivery and no postage charge. If the same order also contains a plant or physical accessory, normal postage is calculated for the physical items.
When will a digital design be available?
The private download becomes available after payment is confirmed. It is delivered through the customer account or secure order link rather than as a public file or email attachment.
Arrival issues, cancellations and returns
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Take clear photographs of the plant, packaging, delivery label and damage as soon as reasonably possible, then contact Snip & Sprout with the order reference. Prompt evidence helps assess transit damage and does not remove statutory rights.
Do you accept returns?
Returns, Refunds and Live Plant Arrival Policy. Some live plants may be exempt from the usual change-of-mind cancellation right where they are liable to deteriorate rapidly. Your statutory rights remain unaffected if a plant or other item arrives damaged, faulty or not as described.
What happens when an unpaid order expires?
The order remains in the audit history but its eligible stock reservation is released. Any eligible discount-code redemption used by that expired order is also released.
Where are the full policies?
Ask before ordering.
A quick question before buying is better than choosing a plant or delivery option that does not suit you.
