About Snip & Sprout

Small-batch plants, grown with patience rather than pushed for speed.

Snip & Sprout is a home-based propagation project built around healthy roots, transparent growth stages, affordable pricing and care that continues after the plant leaves.

The reason behind it

Healthy plants without inflated collector nonsense.

Snip & Sprout grew from a genuine love of propagation: taking a corm, cutting, division or tiny plant and giving it the time and conditions needed to become properly rooted and stable.

This is not a warehouse of mass-bought stock. Plants move through propagation, establishment and available stages in small batches. Their lifecycle, individual Plant IDs and website status are tracked in the Mac app, so availability is based on the plants that actually exist.

The aim is simple: sell plants at fair marketplace prices while still accounting for electricity, substrate, pots, losses and the time required to grow them properly. A fashionable name alone is not a reason to overcharge.

What makes this different

Built around the plant, not a sales target.

01

Roots before release

A propagation is not treated as established just because it has produced one root or one new leaf. It needs to be stable in its growing system and actively progressing.

02

Individual plant tracking

Stock is tied to individual Plant IDs. Website reservations, preorder allocations and sold history are synchronised back to the Mac app.

03

Exact-plant honesty

Available listings use photographs of the exact plant wherever possible, so size, condition, roots and variegation are visible before ordering.

04

Care that stays with the plant

Each customer plant can carry a QR label linking to its permanent care guide, with plant-specific guidance and wider pest, propagation and substrate resources.

From collection to customer

The growing process

Different genera need different methods, but the standard is the same: each stage must be genuinely complete before the plant moves on.

  1. 1

    Propagate

Corms, cuttings, divisions, offsets, leaf pullings and other plant-appropriate methods begin in controlled indoor conditions under grow lights.

  2. 2

    Root and establish

The plant is monitored for healthy roots, active growth and stability after potting or transitioning media. Timing is based on the plant, not a fixed deadline.

  3. 3

    Photograph and publish

Once genuinely available, the exact plant, pot size, price and Plant ID are published from the Mac inventory to the website.

  4. 4

    Pack with its care route

Orders include clear records and a customer QR label linking directly to the correct permanent plant-care page.

The home growing setup

Different environments for different plants.

The collection is grown under dedicated LED lighting across ventilated cabinets, smaller enclosed greenhouses, acrylic propagation cases and ambient shelving. Humidity, warmth, airflow, substrate and watering systems are chosen around the plant rather than forcing every species into one routine.

Small batches mean availability changes. The standards do not.
